Diby is one of the few individuals who would guide the data market in the right direction given his inclination on trusted data. Way to go Alation!
Sounds like when blockchain first hit the "gotta have it now" media. It has a place but it's not the solution for every problem the hype suggested.
CIOs want to get rid of VMware & Broadcom is now on hostile-vendors list of many. Broadcom killed Perpetual license to annual Subs, increased VMware pricing 50% to 1200%! VMware had 300,000 customers & now just focusing on top-2,000. 50% Partners terminated & for others like CCSP, the T&C changed unilaterally. Product mix went from 160 products to 2 bundles - VCF (expensive) & VVF (cheaper but little support). On public clouds - AWS, Azure, GCP- only VCF is available & only as a service & with limited support. VMware's kubernetes product (pivotal cloud foundry) is now surely dead to the delight of companies like Red Hat with their OpenShift product that also has OpenShift virtualization (KubeVirt). Companies like Nutanix, IBM-Red Hat & even hyperscalers are having a good time & customers are really upset at this ugly price-gouging Oracle-style. You are right, it wont be easy to migrate off of VMware but it is not as complex as Oracle Databases either, so Hock Tan may have over-estimated the grip of VMware on the Enterprise Data Center's balls. Overall, its a sad episode, all for the greed of a few big investors, killing a great American company
PLTR been doing MUCH more than SNOW and Databricks WITH and Ontology (something no one else has).
If Databricks were to have an IPO tomorrow, its market capitalization would probably be double that of Snowflake's.
Anyone still looking forward to the Databricks IPO? Seems like by the time they do finally IPO, they'll be late in their life cycle and the major growth phase will have passed. The public market will just serve as exit capital for those looking to cash out. Just take a look at Snowflake since it IPOed. Profitable tech companies now like Databricks, Snowflake, Stripe, etc. withhold IPOing for as long as they can, it seems they want to capture the major growth phase all to themselves.
Are there any publicly traded companies specializing in Graph databases?
Great discussion. Really interested in this issue. Thx
Great discussion! Neri reflects authenticity
every day is a good day when I watch your videos
Very interesting, as always, but did Dave say Amazon is still using Oracle database? I was going to challenge that, but I listened to the whole convo again and didn't hear it.

Great stuff from Ericsson, innovation at its core, and for good. Unlock Ambition!
Great session gentlemen! While GenAI is at the party, Public Cloud is taking a short nap, only to wake up and fresher. Bashing public cloud is a bit naive, cloud is the industrialization of backend computing.
Latha pitched the Greenlake platform brilliantly! She should have given 5-7 minutes during main keynote. One thing which must be conveyed clearly is what HPE means by multi cloud. It seems like by multi cloud HPE means HPE products and services running on multiple clouds (including hybrid).
Go Latha!
Good one. I wonder if hpe and dell could not get the gpus bc the cloud companies bought them out for a year or so and now they finally get their allocation. U should ask them this.
Now that HPE has set the bar, it will be fun to see all the tech companies try and "outdo" each other at Sphere keynotes. Should be fun!
Great innovations, love the “LEGO” built idea of Proliant servers.
Gen AI is Overhyped!!
Walkm bak
It's just the beginning...
Andrew Zane is a rock star

Exaggerated sense of paranoia you say? You can get into anyone's phone, anywhere in the world, just by having their phone number. There is no security for the individual.
So much contradiction in the first 15 minutes. So you say that Snowflake is telling you they don't mark up AWS costs by much but then you say they definitely do by a lot somewhere else in the product costs but when talking about Databricks marking up serverless costs you say they don't or maybe by a little; trusting the private vs public company. And you don't state how much revenue Snowflake incurs from storage but say they must be really close to Databricks total revenue. Then, you say that it's obvious Snowflake is too expensive for Data Engineering and ML compared to Databricks but you talked to a bunch of Snowflake customers at their summit that said that it's not true while also stating you are seeing an uptick in ML workloads. What is the agenda here and what is the truth?
I trust and love you all sir. I AM Bernard Barron.
Loved it!
Wanna hear more insight of competition between SNOW and DB; not just current situation but the future. Will snowflake AI strategy (AI app platform) have chance to catch up DB because AI competition is just start. Hard to say current DB's AI strategy will be the final winner especially SNOW is just presenting their AI tool and platform.
Do they ever talk about Palantir?
He’s brilliant
How does Databricks know who top 8 of 10 Snowflake customers are? Data privacy alert
according to Databricks
Excellent 😊
Your video is like a mini-masterclass. So valuable!
Andrew Zane is so hot! Perfect balance of brain and beauty!
So it’s still about vendor lock in. With Tabular as Trojan horse under the pretense of interoperability (just with Delta). How tricky
this song is so underrated...
Impressive details! Rohit boils it town to the essence.
Worthwhile analysis
What does anyone think about Snowflake Arctic??
I should be sleeping, but here I am, wide awake and entertained.
Diggn the swag! Love that you guys did this segment! This segment would be dope for each event y'all do 😁🤠
Great discussion!
Your video has left me speechless. You have a true gift!
Closely observe how he says "Super excited to be here" at the beginning of the video.
우리아들 최고야. 정말 자랑스럽다 사랑한다 그리고 고맙구나❤
! thank you!
AI so early. Better be an enabler, not a competitor. Databricks: nah….
you guys are rockstars, seriously
Amazing conversation
